phones dead / internet working :S

helloooo

not sure if someone could help here but ive just got home to find all the phone lines are dead in the house :confused:

(bills all paid) yet my internet is working :confused:

is this a fault in the line??? like the splitter or filter? i dont understand why the internets working and the phones arnt when the phones in the same plug as the router....tried 3 diff phones in the same socket so i know the phones arnt the problem.

Any advice would be great

lol...silly dsl, thats why im so baffled :S why isnt the phone working if the internet is :confused:

I had the this very same problem on New Years day after so long someone from BT came out to look at the line.. he found that one of the phone extension in the house was broken so the line thought it was still in use when it wasnt which after so long the phone line got messed up... Bulldog who i get the phone and internet said that if you unplug everything from you're phone and leave it for 30mins it does a softreset on the line so it might be worth trying that..

had a fault on one of the entensions last year which was repaired temporary so maybe it needs repairing again then

Try unscrewing the master socket and plug a phone straight into the test socket bypassing everything else.

2 Screws, remove then the front pulls out, to the left is the test socket.

tried it

tried unplgging everything for 30 mins and nothing.....internet disconnects now and then too
