Im trying to figure out the best way to manage the family photos.

I have a centos server, two laptops (windows), an iphone, an ipad and a nexus.

I would like one central copy on the centos server.
I would like the two laptops to access via CIFS (easy part)
I would like the portable devices to backup to the central folder.
I would then like to sync the central folder to either Dropbox or cloud backup solution to ensure they are safe.

Any ideas whats the best app for iphone/ipad to do this? I would also like the iphone/ipad to be able to view all the photos on the central server.

Would like to know what other people do to.

install dropbox on everything? it has mobile and linux apps too. but what they're like to use, i don't know. :p

i'd presume they'd have selective sync like the windows version so you don't end up with the whole lot on each device.

I would use a cloud service as my main repo, and just have that sync with a folder on a desktop or server.

e.g. I use SkyDrive, which has cross platform apps. Even the camera roll on my phone gets backed up to SkyDrive automatically. I then just have the desktop version on my Windows box syncing as an offline copy.

So I have offsite, on-site and if you back up your desktop you've even got snapshots.

Thanks,

Just setup drop box on android and iPad, need a bit more time over the weekend to setup command line drop box on centos.
