I have access to a colour laser printer at uni, and was wondering what kind of photo paper is best to print on it (I'm looking to recreate the same feel as standard processed photos).

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if you can get photo paper which is suitable for laser printers - the high temperatures of the fuser unit may well melt the coating on normal inkjet paper and give you a mess you don't want to think about.

Aren't colour lasers pretty bad at photographic prints anyway?

Paper-wise, I suppose the best stuff to use would be slightly heavier, premium white laser paper

Not a clever idea, someone at the school my mum works in decided to print some photos on the nice new colour laser assuming they would come out like real photos.

It just left a sticky melted mess inside the printer that cost them a bomb to get cleaned and repaired.

I sent off for some sample prints from Konika-Minolta on one of their A3 colour lasers a while back. Wasn't too impressed to be honest. Maybe it was their settings, but they lacked the vibrance i get from my canon i9950 inkjet. Pictures were printed on normal bog-standard 80gsm uncoated paper.

I personally wouldnt bother trying to print photos on a laser. If you're heart's really set on it though, go with AdWright, and get some decent heavyweight paper.
