After my grandmothers recent death I have probably more than 100 old photographs that I want restoring, due to colours and details fading, or artefacts present and digitizing to their full resolution, so I can have them printed on demand for the funeral services and a permanent digital copy. What prices would I be looking at for this kind of restoration work and are there any good businesses that you can reccomend?

I've had a go doing some myself but it's hardly a practical solution to scan and alter so many images myself, and I'm sure that my skills in image editing are less than that of a professional company.

you wont find anyone doing such a large amount of photo restorations in a reasonable time. Its more complex than just retouching some people spend quite a lot of time restoring only a few images.

I have restored a good few but it would take months to restore 100 or so

Firstly, my sympathies for your recent loss. Like stufflol says, it would take a long time to process such a large amount. It might be better for you to choose a small number for the funeral. I'm sure if you post them here we'll all try and help. But if they are prints you'll need them scanning first. You should be able to get the scanning done at a reprographics shop, they normally have a high resolution scanner.

Sorry to hear about your loss fella, some of us maybe able to help you out here but I've got a couple of question first though.

What medium are they currently in? (e.g framed photo, digital etc etc)
How big are you wanting to print them?
Any chance you could show us an example?

100 photo's is a lot to sort between now and then so as suggested above it maybe worth picking a few of your fav's and starting from there.
