Sorry to come here begging, but my Granddad died earlier this week and I'd really like help restoring this photo of my Granddad and my Dad for his funeral- I'm sure it would make my family very happy to have a nice photo to use.

The print was tea stained which I managed to remove, but I wonder if it could be improved further? Well of course it can, but I'm going to have to beg! What I was really hoping is if someone could clean it up a little more and maybe bring up some definition between the black colours, his suit is sort of a black blob which also merges with the sofa. I can see it very difficult as a lot of the original information is missing.

I would be most grateful if you could help! Here is the photo:

I had to restore a massive amount of water damaged ones as a surprise for my elderly neighbour so i'll have a go when I get home around 2am.

Tbh, I would try a playing with the curves to darken the blacks a bit and I am sure that'll make a big difference straight away.

How about something like this? I re-consturcted the wall next to his arm to bring the suit out :).

Let me know and I'll send you the higher quality TIFF/PSD/whatever you want if it's OK.

I don't think you'll get much better than that. I was going to lighten the sofa but replacing it with the wall is just as effective.

Thankyou! Thanks so much, that's simply excellent, far better than I could have expected! You have my family's thanks!

:) What's your email address and I'll send you the tiff.

I've also fixed (in the tiff) the phantom bit of hand which appeared above the other hand by the re-constructed wall.
