Even worse is the CPU - bent pins, was fine before the purple shirt people touched it.

if you bend it you might break the pins and then it would be ******. i would take it to a repair shop and see if there is anything they might be able to do. if not then what do you have to lose. you'll have to get a new one anyway so just try and sort it yourself.

Sorry I had no pc to reply, it was an AMD Athlon X2 6400+ 3.2 ghz Black Edition CPU. Idid try to straighten the pin but it just fell out :eek:

PC was taken to PC World for insurace assessment and when i got it back the heatsink was not fitted correctly, so took it off, found about half a tube of paste and then noticed cpu not in properly, took it out to find that^^ :mad:

New sanybridge system being ordered tomorrow when my insurance cheque clears so not all bad
