3) Yet again picking #3 is tough because lots of entries of similar quality IMO. I will got for Flukester for a clean, simple affair with nice tones.

Honorable mention to Sonea Fifer, if you like that kind of processing then it is a good job but fir me it is way too OTT.

1. Skalaberg (tree). I like how this fits brief with life from apparently dead tree. Also like how it's framed and how out of focus background objects add to the sense of surroundings (often forgotten)
2. Bastic. Amazing colours in Jelly, would have got my first place if you had got closer
3. Sonia Fifer. Though it has this weird HDR thing (or is it) going on, I think it does enhance the photo especially like the way steam is captured.

There ya go, can't beat critique from a complete beginner

As a few of you picked up on, Skalaberg entered twice - this is half my own fault; I should have noticed. But the original thread says only 1 photo per entrant so I'm going to have to disqualify you dude! I'll make sure to keep a better eye on it in the future.
