photography noob help

Hi guys,

Is there an easy way to get in to photography? I know nothing about cameras or photography for that matter. What magazines are the best to get? In my mind I want to be able to capture landscapes (nice holiday shots) and shots through glass/ plastic and things that are quite far away (good zoom) I have a digital camera but tbh its pants as hell. Can anyone help 

Thanks guys, ill have a think and see what camera to buy etc and read a few mags before i go out and venture into anything.

i'm taking a look at the Practical Photography website and looking at a pdf of what they offer in the magazine , have to say ill be buying that tomorrow in the shops
