Photography Show Exhibition NEC 2017

Agree 100%, I can't put my finger on why, but it seemed miles better this year. Did anyone go to any of the talks? What goodies did you come away with Paul11?

I didn't go this year ; I read on another forum that other people thought it was quieter this year, but perhaps that was just the weekend. I heard the Fuji stall was popular at least :)

The Canon one was the most popular followed by close second between nikon and sigma!

Went on Saturday and I think it was a little busier than last year.

Seemed like a solid event to me, plenty they can improve on but well worth at least half a day of someone's time.

LCE had the best bargain on the Olympus OMD EM1 mark II. £150 off plus the £290 vertical grip for free and Olympus were giving a £300 leather shoulder bag to first 100 people to buy one. So £150 plus £590 of useful freebies.

Thats the kind of deal that makes you want to go to the show.

I always seem to end up buying a new bag at these shows, probably because it's one of those things you really do need to see and inspect in person first. Picked up a Thinktank Retrospective 7.

Managed to escape without buying anything else this time :)

Im looking for a Retrospective 5 for
My Fuji gear actually... how much was the 7 at the show?

£120 from LCE. Was a pinestone coloured one.

I had my eye on the 5 but it wasn't quite deep enough to hold something like a 70-200 so the 7 was perfect. I'd expect the 5 would be perfect for your Fuji stuff though.

It should be enough even for my Canon gear anyway, don't have a 70-200 anymore. I might get the 6 instead actually, I think the 7 is too big for what i want. I already have another Crumpler shoulder bag which can take 1 camera, 4 lenses and 2 flashes.

I primarily wanted it for NY as I wanted something reasonably compact and inconspicuous but which could still accomodate my 70-200 or 100-400 when necessary. Not that I'd normally bother with such focal lengths in somewhere like NY but I'm going to a Yankees game whilst there :)
