Photos and WhatsApp

Hi

Does anyone know how to stop pictures from WhatsApp getting saved into the photos app. I just checked settings and "save to camera roll" is disabled. Its actually my dads phone, perhaps he is doing something wrong but he said when he takes a picture he does it via the WhatsApp camera link.
His photos app though is getting filled up with rubbish like pictures of lotto tickets and what not.

That's how it works. If you take a photo using WhatsApp, it gets saved into the camera roll. The settings to "Save to Camera Roll" only applies to incoming pictures.

It's exactly the same on Android so it's not an iOS thing.

Save to camera roll just coverers incoming photos I believe.

Has that changed recently? I've had previous Android phones (various Samsungs and Huaweis) and they've always saved out separately - camera photos into DCIM, WhatsApp media into it's own folder.
