Evening All,

Wondering what everyone uses for Photosharing and also how they view sharing their images.

I have always struggled to work out what I want to do with the images I take...ie out with hanging them on my wall...

I dont think I want to just give them to the world...but equally I dont want to just keep them in a directory on my laptop...

Dont really know where I stand on it...

I have a Flickr Pro account (finally got access back to it after they made me create a yahoo account over my gmail account).

But having dived into the settings I see their is no guarantee that your originals are controlled. (I get the "if you are putting it online what do you expect) stuff... still doesn't help me work out what I want to do.

So - interested to hear everyone else's motivations for taking pictures and what they do with them, where they store them/why the store them etc

PS: Dont think many pics I take are that special yet...but I have a few from my travels that I would hate to see someone use/make money from without permission etc

I thought long and hard about this at one stage and I came to this conclusion, photography for me is a hobby. It gets me out and about to some beautiful places and makes me appreciate the world around me. Part of the buzz to me is sharing my pictures and experiences, I'd love to eventfully sell some but that’s for the future, for now I'm happy just to get my work out there to as many places as possible. I don't want to get bogged down worrying about copyright so I made a conscience decision not to worry about it to much at all and share good quality images with no watermark.

I'm sharing my pictures publicly on Flickr and Facebook while currently building my own website/blog.

I mostly stopped watermarking my photos (CBA largely), but generally only upload smallish versions of them ( < 500 px), so there's no great risk of them being used for much.

Hi, Thanks for the replies...good to hear I am not the only one who has had the same thoughts.

I am about to renew my Flickr Pro account (seems if you still have one you can keep it).

Do you (or anyone else reading) recommend any others? As usual with these things - Good and Bad reviews seem to balance out for any I have already looked at.

Cheers

I used to have a Flickr Pro account, but haven't bothered renewing it since it lapsed - probably because I'm not shooting as much at the moment as I used to.

I either host pics there or on my own webspace.

When I do get back to shooting more, I'll likely renew my Flickr Pro.

What are the benefits from Flickr Pro account these days?

When I go to purchase it again it states its just for Add Removal?

Back when I had the pro account on the old Flickr it was great loads of features worth the $49

are they still part of the package?
