photoshop 6 help please

hi there

i am having some problems with layers in ps6 at the mo and need some advice please.
i have the ps file here if somebody could look at it for me.
any layer i create over the background cannot be moved. if i make a selection on a new layer when i try to move it, the focus from that layer is lost and goes to the background layer.
somebody said to rasterize the first layer but that option is constantly greyed out.
any help much appreciated

Right,

You cant rasterize any of those layers because they already are rastered.

All of your current layers move, what are you trying to move on a new layer?

What does layer 6 do?

Rename your layers so you know what they are. Obviously amalgamate certain layers first so its more of an entire object.

Why aren't you using vectors for most of those shapes?

if you open the file in cs3 you can move the layers but ps 6 you cant, i only have ps6 and thats what they were created with.

i thought they were vectors. i just create a layer and do what i got to do, i do not purposely change from vectors.(i woulddnt know how )

if you havent guessed yet my knowledge of photoshop is limited at best.
