Photoshop Advice

Thought id start a new thread rather than drag up the 4/5 year old one like last week.:p

looking for some tips on how to improve on photoshop when changing backgrounds.

just been learning myself the past week but when i change things around they just seem to look...………... emm stuck on.

any advice?

tried to put my old car on route 66, also it might maybe be to small?

thanks for your comment ill try touch it up a bit better when i have time see how i get on, i had a quick look last night i blurred over the car a bit which made it look a lot more like it should be there , then had a quick try of shadows but couldn't get the shadow to appear using the fx button but ill have a proper look tonight. also does the car have to be saved as its own layer without the original background first, was trying to figure out how to do that as i think maybe im just giving the whole original photo a shadow instead that is why its not showing on the car. ive figured out how to resize the car and keep the size proportional instead of guessing.
