Photoshop and Gaming

Hey all.
I'm looking at buying a new pc. I game, but also in my new business that I've started up, Wall Printing. I'm looking for a pc that can deliver great gaming at 1440p and be able to process high-detailed images in Photoshop. These images are very big files, and I need to upscale them to get the quality high DPI300. What are my best options? I want to spend less than £2000

What sort of system spec do you have right now?

If I remember rightly, Photoshop is largely single-thread dependent, so clock speed is more important than having numerous processing cores.

I would have thought something like a 9600/X/9700X would easily serve as a very healthy baseline to start with.
In fact, I should think the AMD 7000 series CPUs would also be extremely capable for PS as well, e.g. a 7600/7700/X.

Another option to look into is the Intel 245/265 series (Arrow Lake).
I believe they are likely to be stronger where productivity is concerned (good for gaming also).

I know pretty much nothing about Wall Printing, though I would probably start with 32GB of system memory.
RAM prices have recently gone through the roof, so be aware of that. :/

Now is a good time to purchase a GPU. Due to AI and RAM cost increases, prices are due to go up once again in the coming months.
I'm not sure when, but AFAIK, sometime next year. Probably 1st - 2nd quarter.

Speaking of the GPU, depending on what you already have, I'd be considering looking at cards in the 5070/Ti or 9070/XT range for 1440p gaming;
however, you can still get a very good experience indeed with something like a 9060XT 16GB or 5060Ti 16GB.

The 'super' variants of the RTX570/5080 are, last I heard, coming sometime next year, though it could be a while before anything materialises on that front.
Personally, I would buy sooner than later, and I'd recommend something that has 12GB of video memory at the very least, though 16GB would be ideal.
