photoshop canvas problem

i have a weird problem....when you open up multiple images in photoshop normally they are not snapped to the canvas...in other words you can move them around..resize the canvas etc....but for some reason now my canvas is always full screen with no dragable egdes and if i open more than one they are layered on top of each other...im not sure what option unlocks it..any ideas?

Hi, just below the photoshop minimise-maximise-close windows buttons at the top right, there are another 3 which pertain to the active image. Just click on the middle one (2 squares icon) and that unlocks the image to a separate window. HTH?
