photoshop colour problem

Having a problem with the way pictures are appearing in photoshop, its driving me insane!

Basically images will look one shades/colours etc in photoshop and then completely different in any viewer after its been saved. See attached example for what I mean. Both pictures are of the same edit.

Cheers for the pointer. I've now changed the colour profile in photoshop but I still have the same problem. Any thing else I can try?
 
If you're using Windows XP then check the Windows Colour Profile
Display settings -> Settings -> Advanced - Colour Management

Check Adobe Photoshop CS2
Edit -> Colour Settings - Working Space (RGB)

Also check your proof setup
View -> Proof Setup - (custom)
View -> Proof Colours (ticked/unticked)
 
I have fixed my problem. Posted in the other thread about the same thing.

I alter the following...When you click File, New and thena dialog pops up. I changed the Color Profile down the bottom there to my monitor one "True Internet Colour" and that has solved mine.
 
I've noticed that when I first got my Epson R800, using ACDsee to print. Same thing happened with that. Easily fixed when you remember what you did to solve things many moons ago :p
 
I have tried all of these changes but still i'm getting a different brightness between image in photoshop and the image viewed in windows. Any more ideas?

Its strange because i dont ever change any of the photoshop settings, I dont know why this is suddenly happening. Its driving me mad now though. Close to formatting and starting again to be honest.

So what settings should I set my monitor to and then in turn set photoshop to?

Can I calibrate my monitor with a photoshop colour profile!?
 
This is a common problem...

Can I ask if you are using adobe gamma or another monitor calibtraition piece of kit like a mcbeth or similar?

its basically a discrepancy between your monitors colour profile and the srbg profile.

Rest assured, if others view the file on the right on thier computer (assuming they are using sRGB) it will actually appear with the same colour as the one on the left which you are working in.

I use a laptop (calibrated etc) and the difference I see is huge. Its frustrating but its only what YOU see on the screen. Try posting the same jpeg on the net and viewing it on another pc...

there are many posts around the net on this..typically i am struggling to find one...

Yup i'm using a program called natural color that came with my monitor. If i turn the program off the picture looks terrible so not using it isn't much of an option.

Thanks for your reassurance. I hope this is the case. Not really much I can do I suppose.
 
i know its very rough and not the best way to do it but use adobe gamma. Dont use the monitor software....ensure you keep an eye on your monitor profiles though...
