Recently finished my new build which is this.

Intel X25-M Mainstream 80GB
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H AMD 880G
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB x 2
OCZ Reaper Low-Latency 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 12800C6 (1600MHz)
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz

But when im in photoshop (as i mostly am on this machine...when doing stuff it pauses for about a second...take a while to swap to new tools and just moving teh open files (say two are open within PS, moveing the containing window about), is slow and juttery.

Initally things hwere fne...how ever, just as I type this I did add in a rather large fonts folder...would this be enough to mess up PS and act this way?

If you have a truck load of fonts installed that may cause the pauses, but I suspect something else too. What Security Suite do you use, and does PS improve if it's off?

Eveerything else runs fine....just using AVG, really its a stand alone machine for PS use , no slow down on other things that I Have notced really, but I think i must have about 12k fonts tho that includes Bold Italics etc etc.

Ill remove them first and see how it responds, sommin like that font fitting is a much better overall solution I think no matter the outcome.

Yeah, definately. I used an older version before and once you spend some time tinkering and creating sets of fonts, it really shows it's worth. :)

Aye seems to have been it, so went and got the font manager, just went for the basic version, not a bad price and seems to be a very capable bit of software.
