hi,

probably not the most specialised place to ask but i was just wondering if someone could help me with photoshop, please.

Basically, I have an image of a person with black hair with a streak of blonde in it. I want to use the colour replacement tool to make the blonde streak black as well. however, whenever i try this, it just turns to a shade of grey and i can't get it any darker, even if i use successive colour replacements.

i've read the relevant part of the manual and a book on photoshop but can't seem to get anything to work. replacing with any colour apart from black doesn't seem a problem either.

any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

edit: typo

because its blonde their is an inherant white hue in it which is why that tool wont give you a proper black as far as i can tell..

have you tried the hue colour adjustments?

have you tried airbrushing it?

have you tried using the plaster tool.. cant remember the proper name but it looks like a plaster?

The heal tool? ;) Try playing around with the brightness/contrats settings, and use a normal brush with a dark colour set to either colour, colour burn or darken.

depending on quality of photo id be tempted just to clone some black hair, only really works on low detail though
