Photoshop CS2 - Ctrl+Left Click, Select Layer Transparency?

Hi,

I am following a tutorial to create metallic text in Photoshop (http://www.drquincy.com/resources/tutorials/photoshop/glossymetaltext/)

On point 16 he says to select one layer then ctrl+left click the other layer to select the layer's transparency. He created this tutorial in Photoshop CS and i have CS2 - does anyone know what the shortcut should be?

The difference in CS2 is that you have to Ctrl+click on the layer thumbnail to load the layer transparency as a selection.
