This is a strange one.

Been working on a few updates to a website and needed to add some new images.

When I open up a jpg, gif or any other type of image file, once I go to the Crop tool and attempt to crop it, for some unknown reason it will only crop over half the actual image itself and then the crop tool expands to outwith the canvas of the image, top and bottom ( if that makes sense?? ).

This has only just started happening this evening, it was working fine this afternoon???.

Can post pics if required as it's kinda hard to explain what's happening!!!

Halp!!!!

Not sure about CS3

In previous versions - Select crop tool > right click on the crop tool icon ( Below File and the Adobe logo icon ) > Reset tool

Might work

Have you inadvertently switched it to "Fixed Ratio" on the toolbar?

EDIT: Bugger - thinking of the marquee tool, sorry. I've only got CS3 at work, so can't even check to see whether Mark's spot on or not [I seem to remember there are some changes to the crop tool in CS3]. I've had more helpful days :(

Cheers guys, I'll give it a go.

For some reason, all this hassle appeared to start after I tried to cut and paste and then crop an image from a .pdf file.
