Is photoshop a demanding program regarding Ram, CPU power?

I am going to be building an ITX system as mentioned in another thread and was wondering what you guys would say about photoshop as i will be using it quite a bit. Would an i3 CPU and 8gig ram be ok for it? I would be using onboard GPU.

It's as demanding as you need/want it to be. I.e. how much RAM it requires is down to how much RAM your PSDs require. Your i3 + 8GB will be fine. get a fast enough HDD for swap/cache and you'll be good to go.

It really depends what images you are editing and how big they are. The images get loaded into RAM, so that's a big bottle neck.

+1 and what sort of photoshop work you do as well. If you apply a lot of adjustment filters this could slow performance down.

Ok, so 8gig ram should be more than enough?

The CPU, i3, should be more than capable?
