Hi all,

Just got CS6, is there a way of exporting a shot from LR to PS and then back? I can't seem to see it.

Basically I have 24 shots which I want to merge to a star trail, then once stacked in PS move back to LR. I have already exported to JPeg onto my HD and then imported that way, and then save again then import to LR but would be nice with out all the saving as etc

Thanks

When I want to stack images I highlight them in LR and choose the option to edit in CS for HDR merge or Panoramic etc. I do that without exporting to JPG first and the file created in CS automatically shows in LR when I'm done but I do save it.

Ahh right ok will give that a try, many thanks.

The shots them selves aren't going to be any use, I wasn't happy with the result (first time trying to get multiple shots for trails) so just trying to get the editing side sorted so I am good to go the next time :)

Export to PS.

Do work in PS.

File - Save, a new copy will appear in LR

If it is a panoramic file that is stitched then it is a new file, then save as Tiff and import again in LR.

I don't know if there is another way but I don't do the above that often.

Note that when you press File - Save, the new file will open with all settings you made in LR applied but the development module's slider will all be reset to zero.

Ok cool, I have Photomatix Pro installed as a plug-in and that works in a similar way then, make amendments to the original files, merge to HDR then when it returns everything is back to zero. Great can't wait to get stuck into it and get some processing done.

OK managed to get onto my machine remotely and tried it, worked a charm... however the file that's saved is 2.15gb in size.... that's huge! Have I done something wrong here?

Na its normal for anything stacked. I think it keeps all the details of previous images and more etc so it's large :) Also chews up RAM as it compiles the stacked images lol.
