Yo people

When i save a file in Photoshop (CS2) and choose a filetype it doesnt add the extension onto the end, so the file is just saved without an extension. Any ideas, as its well annoying when saving lots of images back to back as keep forgetting.

Its only started happening since I reinstalled windows. Anyone have any idea?

Cheers

Is it just files that are saved from PhotoShop that have no file extensions are all your files missing them?

If your batch processing files in PhotoShop make sure that the 'extension' option is in one of the drop down boxes in the file naming area. Other than that I'm not very sure why PhotoShop wouldn't be saving file extensions

nope not batch saving, and appears to only be photoshop

never happened b4, but to be honest its a different edition of windows than my normal copy

using a stripped / tweaked slipstreamed version using my cd key, so what be something in windows instead maybe? ne ideas?

nope

and just noticed this is not photoshop only, can some kind mod pls move to windows forum + change the word 'Photoshop' in title to 'Applications' (thanks in advance)

when you change the filetype, instead of the ext changing itself it just stays what is was on previously, or in some cases nothing

You don't have the 'Hide file extensions for known file types' option turned on in the Windows folder options do you? From memory it's turned on by default so if it's only started happening since you re-installed Windows that may be the problem

nah, thats always one of the first things i change when I reinstall windows, but cheers anyways ;)
