Photoshop plugin for shadows

What I mean is, say I crop out an object from a picture and put it into a different scene, is there a plugin that will analyze the picture and try and apply the same shadows and highlights to this new object?

I don't know of one offhand but it should only take a couple minutes to put in a decent shadow.

I get the feeling that Mr Beard is not seeking a plugin that does a simple drop or cast shadow effect.

My take on his request is that he wants to know if there's a plugin that will allow someone to select a person out of a photographic image, then paste that person into another photograph, changing the light structure on the person to match the light structure of the destination photo.

Yeah I'm very doubtful there would be. And if there is - I'm dubious the results would be very good.

There are just too many variables to consider in this instance that just couldn't be accounted for in a 2 dimensional image.

You can do shadows fairly easy by taking the selection and changing the levels and moving it into positions.

I think i saw a tutorial on this site, but it could have been another youtube vid.

Ahh, if you're right, then your word is most definitely correct.

If such a magical plugin exists, I've not heard of it.
