Oop north - where it's grim...
Hi all

Hopefully this will be an easy one for the PS gurus.

I have an image with a transparent background - the image is a square with rounded corners, and it also has a couple of "holes" in the middle (i.e. gaps showing the background through).

I want to create a drop shadow round the edge of the box only - I don't want shadows in the centre of the box (round the "holes") but I get shadows in the centre when adding a drop shadow via an effects layer.

How do I get the shadow on the edges only (using PS CS2).

TIA

Si.

Right, on the layer with the image with rounded corners click on that arrow poining downwards on the right hand side. Now below it it should show "Effects" and "Drop Shadow". Right click on the drop shadow then select "Create Layer". It will open up a little dialog window and just click OK. Now it should have created a layer called "Layer XXX's Drop Shadow", select it then grad the eraser tool and brush off the shadows.
