Hi

Photoshop is probably (IMO) the most complex image editing program there is, thats why it is the industry leader. Do a search for 'Photoshop Tutorials' and see what come up.

There are plenty of websites out there for all levels, alternativly buy a book on the subject. here are a few links to get you started.

http://www.pegaweb.com/index.html

http://www.good-tutorials.com/

Hope this helps

Glad we could help

Photoshop is a great program, I'm lucky enough to work in the print industry and have seen some amazing things done with the program.

Can you post your results?

Enjoy

thanks for the tip and links... how would one get a picture of a evo out of a picture like this without bringing the background with it?

For the one in your sig, i used the magnetic lassoo with a 2 pixel feather and then zoomed in close and used the eraser to clean it up.

As posted the extract filter is an option, it all depends on the background.

Good Luck.

ok thanks mate.

Personally id avoid the magnetic lassoo at all costs, its not accurate enough and is easy to screw up and get frustrated with. Learn to use the pen tool, its truly invaluable, plus it helps no end if you ever want to get to know Illustrator too :)

Thought i'd just defend my advise. :D

As with any tool it's as good as the user.

But, yes, nimzicki the pen tool is is a great tool to master.

Its good to know the extract tool/lassoo but its not anywhere near as accurate as the pen tool once its been mastered :)

As my post stated ,the pen tool is a great tool to master.

But it's as accurate as the user, and for a noob , a diffficult one.

If i was starting again , then I agreee 100% , learn the pen tool.

But use whatever does the the job, Photoshop offers so much variety.
