Photoshop Saving Problems

Hi,

When im finished editing a picture i go file>save as> jpg.

It then comes up with the box, and the quality settings, i leave everything ond default except for the quality. So if a forum only allows a max of 50kb, i slide it down to something like 48kb.

However when i save this, i'll go to the image, right mouse click it and it will have a file size of something like 70kb.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? Or am i doing something wrong?

Try using the 'Save for Web' option. This useually has the the best compression. You'll need to resize in the region of 640x480 though for 50kb I would think.
