I was following a nice tutorial on using a custom brush to simulate a flame.
After creating the brush, the tutorial called for you to use a gradient map to colour it, as it would use the grayscale values to colour different parts of the flame, using a custom gradient.
However, when I apply the gradient map (Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map) and use my gradient (in fact any gradient) the custom brush shape is only filled with the first colour in the colour ramp. I follow the tutorial to the dot, so i haven't missed anything out.
To add to this, if i use an adjustment layer with my custom gradient, it works fine, but it also changes all the layer, not just one.
Here is the tutorial, so if someone could give it a quick go and let me know if it worked you, i'd be grateful for some help in fixing my problem
