Photoshop

Hi all

After getting back into the photography and actually making an effort with it I was looking at the price of photoshop cs6 is this the only version of PS? Cause to be honest I don't want to pay £667 for some software.

Is there a cheaper version or a basic version of PS?

Or is there an alternative software that people use?

I saw photoshop elements in pc world earlier but I didn't know wether it was an editing software or an addon for PhotoShop

I've just had a look on the website, I'm going to trial elements first and see how it pans out for a beginner to photography,

So if I understand this correctly,

Is light room a more complex version of elements?
Or am I way off?

Ok I think I'm just going to trial them both and see wich is more suited to me,

To be clear though, when you stop a subscription you lose access to the software.

is this for the CS6? If it is why is it so cheap to subscribe too and expensive to buy?
