PhotoshopCS v ImageReadyCS

Just curious to know what people use the different programs for?

never reeally used either but wanted to know what is imageready used for - or put simply what are the major differences?

am i right in thinking photoshop has the main bones of processing an image and imageready is used to tailor the image to a specific purpose? i.e. web, publish etc
