i suggest simplegal using it on my site now its very good i must say

Coppermine and Gallery are pretty popular and very well featured.
I couldn't decide which would be best for me, so I decided to roll my own in the end as a bit of an exercise in learning PHP & mySQL. I'm amazed I ever got it to work.

Ended up coding my own. Doesn't look too bad!
