This is the licence they link to, which says for non-commercial use. But saying that I have seen companies use it for support forums...

According to this page it's under the GPL v2 which means you can use it for whatever you please. The creative commons license is for the documentation only from what I can see.

This. Although I believe GPLv2 means you can be asked for any derivatives you create...

I've built a few "commericial" sites which have phpBB3 integrated with MediaWiki for SSO, and there's no problems with it.

I've had a look at this, andrew it doesn't seem to state that you must provide, if requested, your version of the software if you have changed it.

It does mean that you cannot make any changes and attempt to patent them though from what I can tell?
