Been trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with phpmyadmin for the past hour.

Basically, I forgot my MySQL root password, so i went about re-setting it, went ahead without a hitch and now my forums and other DB's can connect fine.

Needed to install a new script so fire up phpmyadmin and enter the root username and password. No joy! The blasted thing wont let me log in even though the info is 110% correct!

What is wrong with phpmyadmin?

MySQL: 5.0.18
PHP: 5.1.2 AND 4.4.2
PHPMyAdmin: 2.7.0-pl2

Nope, just asks for username/password

If I press cancel, it returns "access is denied"

Hit the nail on the head!

For some reason, phpMyAdmin erased the password and set its own default one "pma". Have no idea how or why it did that but now its fixed
