Im looking for something for the parents, needs to be dead easy to use, works with xp/vista/w7 and covers most of the basic features, the have some photos they love to scan in but the laserjet loves to print too dark.

Can anyone help?

It is for photo's btw, edit won't let me edit the title doh!

Picasa is quite good if you just want photo management and basic editing, just be careful which folders you tell it to watch as it has a habit of adding stuff to the library you didn't expect.

another vote for picasa, it has face recognition now, works pretty good too

I use Paint.Net and find that quite easy to use and user friendly a more basic photoshop

thanks for this! i used to use photo filtre, but it always looked long in the tooth. this has a really nice gui
