Physics scores seem low

Hi 8pack,

I would like some expert advice here.

I bought an overclocked bundle here about 12 months ago. It has been fantastic but whenever I benchmark now my physics scores are stupidly low. This never used to be the case and I cannot work out why.

The bundle was the £Z77 Gamer" Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40GHz @ 4.50GHz DDR3 Ivybridge Overclocked Bundle"

I have ran cpu-z and furmark to check the multiplier on the cpu is hitting x45 as is how it has always been. That all seems fine.

The physics are way too low. Can you advise please?

looks right for that cpu,hyperthreading cpu's score higher

Really?

I am sure I used to get higher. Before I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 I was getting a score of at least 10k, unsure if it has anything to do with 8.1 though.

tried re installing gpu drivers and firestrike? use display driver uninstaller

EDIT: it does seem a little low

Hmmmm,

looks like you are correct. Weird how my overall score has dropped by around a 1000 though.

I thought it must be the physics.

your using latest 14.1 beta drivers? could be down to win8 not sure

I would have thought windows 8.1 would see an increase in score, not a decrease!

8.1 is terrible for benching. 8 is good or 7 64.

HT matters with Physics a lot!! as does CPU clock. On 11 Physics RAM is very important on FS less so.

I'm on 8.1 and my scores sometimes dwindle with cards with lower clocks. As Ian says it's totally crap for benching. Saying that my Physics scores still fall in line in Futuremark benchmarks.

4960@ 4.8 scores excel 3930s @ 5.0ghz
