Ive just installed a 9800GTX to my machine to try out physx. Last time i tried it i had a GTX260 and i added a 8600GTS for physx. It was slower with the 8600.

But now i find myself with the 9800GTX spare ( had intended it for a different machine but it wont fit :D ) so i installed it alongside my GTX470

Ive benched few things but havent really played anything yet. I weas expecting a decent jump in FPS but sisnt really get that. I was a bit underwhelmed again.

3DM11 and vantage returned almost identical scores both with and without the 9800

Batmank Arkam Asylum only saw FPS go from an average of 54 without the 9800 to 58 with it.

Mafia 2 went from 35.6 without to 42.1 with

Does that look about right? The 470 is running at x16 and the 9800 at x4 ( max it can on my mobo )

I think once ive played through mafia i may well take it out again.

With Mafia 2 (atleast I found) the advantage of having a 2nd GPU fpr PhysX wasn't so much in the framerate (which slightly increased) but that the game was far smoother with a 2nd GPU doing physics instead of one card doing both rendering and physics.
