ive got a gtx 260 and a 9800gt in the second slot. both cards are showing on gpu z and latest drivers are installed. only the gtx 260 is connected to the monitor.

do i have to connect the physx card to the monitor as well to get the benefit???

(playing batman a.a)

cheers

No - tho depending on OS sometimes it won't recognise the 2nd card for physx if nothing is attached to it. You should be able to select it for GPU Physx in the nVidia control panel.

i just tried the batman benchmark with and without it being connected. the scores were a lot higher with it connected so it must need connecting.

cheers

Which GPUs can be used like this? I have an 880GTX (getting old!) in my desktop and a 9600GT in my HTPC which I'm about to replace. Could the 9600 go into the desktop as a PhysX card? That would be awesome!

physx is only available on 8 series geforce and above.

batman runs sweet now with my 9800gt dedicated to physx. its a shame t here aint many game to support physx.

7 series can't do physx - they have fixed function pipelines rather than the shader units on 6 and newer series cards.

can anyone please help me. I am planin to get an upgrade on my GPU. my budget is £200. Wats the best GPU to get and why. thank you for reading.
