Not a picture of space as such, but i still think its an amazing picture. It's a relativly old picture of the space ship columbia during take-off

I wonder how long that camera lasted, though maybe it's further from the launch site than it looks.

*edit* Looking at this, it seems amazing how industrial the rocket design is. There's a bare attempt at streamlining, but the whole thing is obviously more designed around ramming something into the air with ENORMOUS force than anything else. Sweet pic.
