How exaggerated are these claims and is there any merit to them whatsoever?

Looks like there is a demo version so worth giving it a try.
The advertised forum discussions seem to give at least some merit to it anyway, and didn't Adobe demo something like this a year or two back?

I've just fed it a raw file from my D600 and 10 minutes on its still crunching away, i7 laptop with fast ssd and 12gig ram.

It wouldn't accept any .jpg that I had previously exported from LR either.

Not a good 1st impression and i'll probably reach for the uninstall button very shortly.
