Pick a board for a moron?

I RMA's my insane striker II Extreme, and it came right back to me....because I'd made a mess of putting the socket protector on (In my defense I WAS half asleep at the time), and bent, what looks like about 6 pins.

Obviously I'll try and fix it, but even if I can, that'll still leave me with the same probs I had before.


So......what board to get to replace it.

Gone off Asus
Don;t need or care about SLI/Crossfire.

It just needs to support quads, and DDR3 1600.

Open to suggestions.

(also open to suggestions on where I'm getting the money LOL ).

get a good gigabyte board. i really hate asus boards with an absolute passion. i've had 5 and have had problems with each one.

They only seem to have one board with DDR3.
Do you (or anybody) know if they're OK with 4 stick of RAM, loads of boards don't seem to be, and I was gonna order another 2x1GB when getting the board.

Never mind the 4 slot support, it was only becuase the board was too cheap and had to add something to get it on the buy now pay later thing. But the GF's gonna get me it with her card (ahhhhhh what a sweetie eh?).

Seems a decent board, bit florrid though isn't it :lol:
