Hello folks,

I'm getting a new card next week and these are the only one's in my price range that have caught my eye. I'd like one of the nVidia 7900GTX cards but they're a little too pricey for me. So, which one of these three would be the best buy? Or perhaps I've missed something of a similar price which I ought to be going for?

Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB - £211.44
Gainward BLISS Geforce 7900 GT Golden Sample 256MB - £211.44
EVGA GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3 - £190.29

By the way, the 7900GTX cards are better than the ATI card listed above, yeah?

Cheers :)

7900 GTX is about on par with the x1900 XTX, only differances are the x1900 uses more power, gives off more heat, and is louder, but it can also do HDR+AA which the 7900's can't do, it also has better IQ, so if the power/heat etc... is not an issue than go for the x1900 as its cheaper, and its also much better than the 7900 GT, also the 7 series has a reliability problem, mainly they are all borked, dropping like flies they are, but thats in the process of being sorted, i think the EVGA ones are the fixed ones, so if you want a 7900, best to go for that brand. :)

Welcome to the forums btw. :)

Thanks fellers. Its quite obvious the ATI card was the best however I wanted all you brainy types to confirm it for me :D

Surprised that the x1900XT according to some of you is at least on par with the 7900gtx. Most of the reviews/benchmarks I've been reading today were slobbering over it.

So, the x1900xt it is then. I bought FEAR last week and its got a proper spanking coming to it.
