Pick me an AGP card

I have a old computer that cannot play any games due to the onboard graphics, it can apparently hold a AGP 8x card, however only works with cards with 1.5v. The question is, can anybody help me? All of the cards I have looked at state that they are 8x, but they do not state what voltage is required.

The maximum that I would be prepared to pay would be £50 as I am pooling all of my money together for a new build, however as this computer is going to my brother (plays pre 2006 games), I would prefer it if he could stay away from my new build as he has a tendency to destroy things.

Thanks.

I've just bought a 7600GS to go in my girlfriends PC, mainly cos it needs to be AGP, quiet (heres hoping) and not use much power in normal use - yet apparently the Inno3D ones clock lovely!

I'll test it out tonight and let you know how things go - and i'll see if I can find anything on if its 1.5 volts.

£43 delivered, from the Tropical Rainforest place

(not competitor, cos OCUK dont sell this card!)

You'd probably be able to get a 7600GT for £50 but if I were you I'd consider 2nd hand where you could get maybe a x1950Pro or something with even more power perhaps. But, with all that in mind, if the games he plays are all pre 2006, he should be fine with a 7600GT (I've owned one, they're great little cards) All modern AGP cards are 1.5V (4x-8x) only the very old ones are 3.3v and although 8x slots can take 0.8v cards, no manufacturers ever made them as there was no point.

If it's the one i've just seen it's gone down to less then £38 delivered, if this is the one you can claim back £5 since they do a 30 day guarantee

Ta Smyth, but are you sure you're reading AGP cards there? ;)

I can see my AGP one at same price of £43, with the PCI-X one cheaper at £38.

Thats fair enuff considering the part is native PCI-X, and has to have an extra bit of metal on for cooling for AGP - same as the old 6600GT I had, maybe i should have just kept that from a few years back! lol
