Fully boxed and in new condition £310.

Excellent speakers, the sound just fills the room and is just so clear and defined.

No need for sound card either, just plug them in via USB.

Never had a decent set of speakers for the computer, never going back now!

There's always room for more room, always! I can't ever see myself using anything but my Tannoy floorstanders and NAD stereo amp. The combination is just sublime for /everything/.

I have these and they are excellent. However, they don't really fill the room and nor where they ever intended to - they are speakers that are supposed to be used with you sitting a few feet in front of them.

Try a punchy pair of standmounts and some decent stands. I've never looked back. IME floorstanders have massively uncontrolled bass (unless you're spending loads). I have a tiny pair of standmounts with a 5" woofer in each which do a stonking job in my 18' X 12' lounge. I bought some Tannoy Revolution R3s to 'replace' them, but they sucked compared and within a month I'd sold them and reinstated the Totems.

Have you listened to the Tannoy V4s? Standmounts don't come close to the low level performance of a good floorstander and only a handful of floorstanders can keep up with the clarity of a good standmount without muddying it with bass. The V4 is one of those handfuls of speakers.

I had Mordaunt-Short floorstanders (914i) before and they remain epic but they lacked the lower down detail which the Tannoy V4 does perfectly. I've had Kef standmounts also and they were not as good.

If you don't believe me when I say the V4s go beyond all expectations and you live near by you're welcome to come over for a cup of tea, bring your favourite CD for an audition :)
