I'll report back in a few days what it's like as I was getting some wireless client compatibility issues with the DIR-655 as apparently it's picky on what N clients it wants to connect to (Atheros chip issue) but the Sitecom seems fine thus far.

The Sitecom comes with better aerials, more rugged construction and more discreet LED indicators as well as higher quality packing not that that matters :p.

There appears to be more broader featureset in the Sitecom's firmware config pages even though the base appears to be the same as DLink's (the way the pages are logically laid out, the way the admin pages and buttons are, the way they sahre the same feature names, the way the router reboots and the warning messages that pop up are all the same) leading me to believe the Sitecom is a variant of the Dlink using it's own components and firmware customisation?

Either way the new features are nice like bandwidth benchmarking to each connected client and additional firewall settings.

It cost £104 which is what I paid for the DIR-655 but have put the 655 on MM for a steal of a price if anyone's interested ;)

Let me know how you get on with it mate as im moving to virgin 50meg on wed and was looking to buy this router.

So far no wireless compat issues, the unit gets warmer than the DLink but maybe this is a good thing as the heat escapes the casing better? the vents run around the top edge of the top case whereas the DLink they run on the sides and back only. The casing is also a bit thinner ut because of the rubberyness feels more rugged.

Will keep an eye on gaming over the weekend.

Just had to replace a draytek 2910g as the WLAN died. Got a linksys 320n and it seems ok. The extra wireless speed is a bonus. Wish draytek did an N + gigabit router!

Gaming pings seem to be good in L4D, better than the DIR-655, was getting 55ms on OCUK servers on 8v8 matches but now get <45, this is the only game where I've noticed a marked improvement as other games were the usual 15~

No complaints and ultra stable :p

The Box it comes in reminds you of a Razer product too (but with less OTT) and thankfully you're not paying a premium for the packaging :p

Seems flappy flaps are the in thing too....

Be sure to update teh firmware as a first priority job, the one that comes on the router looks like someone made it using an old version of Frontpage!

wow it does look like razer packaging..

I'm surprised they don't make routers tbh, if they priced them well, they could sell like hotcakes

can you test the gigabit throughput (lan to lan)

Only my PC at the moment is gigabit enabled (2 more being upgraded) but the router does have a LAN bandwidth tester built in but I don't know how accurate it is or the criteria it bases the measurement on but will test properly once Gigabit is fully up and running.

if my WRT fails to perform when/if I get 50mb, I'll get this router

currently, it's just me and the gf living together, so haven't had any of the problems that you mentioned before..

Just a small update, Gigabit speeds are niice :)

Xferring disc images over the LAM to a new machine I'm building.
