I was just wondering how you guys pick up your bikes if they ever fall over?

I was looking at the 600RR and Fireblade and they are the same wet weight, which surprised me, at 200ish kgs which is quite a large dead weight to pick up.

Sports bikes aren't that hard to pick up if you are reasonably strong - you aren't lifting all the weight of the bike. I think most would struggle if a Goldwing or Pan European fell over though.

Yeah they aren't hard at all, as said you aren't picking it up, just pulling it upright.
One hand handle bar, one hand seat ish and just pull it up.

I watched something like this a while ago:

But when I dropped my ER-6f I couldn't get it back up myself :(

Although, I was in the work carpark with people watching, and I was embarrassed :p

That looks harder than what I was thinking.

I was just going to grab it and lean back and right it, lol.

that video is some sort of deadlift, but your feet are going to slip and you are going to drop it again?

Whichever handlebar is closest to the floor, I just grab that and hoik it with a straight back and bend at the knees. Get a hand on the front brake when it's possible to stop it trying to roll off.

Fazer was hard to pick up though! Big heavy thing :/

ugh nothing worse in the world than having to pick up your bike.. Not cos its all that difficult, its cos you know it's gonna be scratched and scuffed upon getting it back upright.

my RR weighs nothing like 200kg :s

Had to pick up my old steel frame CBR6F way back when... in bare feet... i managed it but took all the skin off the bottom of my feet lol

Adrenaline gives you superhuman strength! :D

Admittedly that was when racing and in the pits i'd get one of the pit crew to pick it up... :p

Last two times I've dropped my bike, I just sat there until the marshals and van come along to do it for me, then followed by the drive of shame back to the paddock :)

I wouldn't be worrying about how to pick my bike up if I dropped it.....that's something you will just have to do if it happens.

I would be worrying about not dropping it in the first place......as that's sometimg you don't want to do.

That, and adrenaline, got mine back up after it fell over :)

I'm 5'8 and 11 stone, so it's will over beef, I reckon.

You just....................pick them up.

One hand on the head stock if you can get in there, one hand on the frame under the seat, push with you legs, job done.

right foot on the rear tyre, hands on the grab rail and the front handle bar and pull. the only bike i had to do that to was my vfr800 and it worked perfectly.

(The reason it was on the floor was a very embarrassing one.. i forgot the disc lock was on it .. tried to pull away and stalled.. and didnt expect it :( lol )
