Picking up my new MT-09 tomorrow.

Does anyone on here agree with what the chap is saying?

It does make sense, however i certainly do not want to go on just the word of a man on the internet.

Has anyone spoken to any proper engineers or crew chiefs as a perfect example, of if this method has any disadvantages.

I did it with my DRZ400. I didn't rev it high but I did load the engine hard in the first hundred or so miles. Didn't encounter any problems and the bike did run well. When I rebuilt the top end, the piston was spotless below the top ring.

It's hard to say for sure that this was the reason but I'll probably do it with my next bike.

Just don't ride hard for long, don't let the engine overheat in the first few rides. A few accelerations through 2/3/4 and then give it a rest. I've read the very first ride is the most important and the dealership usually does this to check over the bike.
