Taking the missus on a suprise picnic tomorrow. What are your favourite recipe ideas?

Last time out I tried these two:
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1810/picnic-tortilla
http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/11610/summer-sausage-rolls

The sausage rolls were nice and the tortilla was very tasty, but only when warm so not so good for a picnic.

The touble I have is that a lot of the recipes are salads/rice dishes. These feel like bbq sides, not picnic food in my mind.

My only vriteria is that they must be fairly quick to prep and cook as I've got to do it quickly on the sly tomorrow morning!

Quite partial to antipasti myself. Some nice meats, sundried tomatoes, mozerella, bread, rocket, maybe some vegetables. Not really a recipe though, more an assembly of things!

This man knows his stuff! Get some great bread (not a crap french stick. Get a sourdough or similar). Some decent oil. Meats. Cheeses. Make some hummus? A salad and / or veg. Falafel.

This is the meal of kings.
