Pico 4 out soon?

using the broswer to watch youtube videos or just watching network videos via the file manager, all images are pixelated. i dont see any settings for streaming quality. on the quest 2 all this stuff "just works", on my pico 4 its unuseable. even though the youtube videos are saying they are in 4k the image is awful.

Yep, re Face cover

I contact vr cover, everyone is saying the same thing

The standard one is rigid
But the rest of the headset is perfect

Just need vr cover to make one , then it would be perfect in comfort

Sounds like your connection speed

if i click the wifi connection it doesn't tell me the connected speed, where can i see this? however i have decent wifi (unifi dish) and 100mb internet.

So I've played around with it, used the settings and got it looking nice, however, I'm just not sure VR is quite there for me yet. I know I can get prescription lenses, but I tried it without my glasses on, and the FOV is so much better. Echoing what others have said about the face cover being hard, I'm finding I have to push it hard into my face and tighten up the back to get a good sweet spot otherwise, everything appears blurry to me. Sadly, I think I'll be returning it to Amazon :( I guess I'll wait for Valve's next foray into VR and see what that's like. Picture quality and whatnot in Half-Life Alix was insane, though.

Do you have any dead pixels at all? Rather than sending it back, I might have it off you.

The connection between your PC and router is also important. Is it a gigabit connection? If it's a 100mbit connection it doesn't matter how good your WiFi connection is.

Hi mate, I don't believe I do, not that I've noticed, is there an easy way to double-check or what's a good thing to run on a headset to check?

My eyes seem to be drawn to them. I usually just keep my head still, and scan my eyes across the display. It's better if you are looking at all one colour, like the sky, or wooden floor. I usually find them when first booting up on the black screen, or in steamvr when you don't go into home....the black screen with the lines on.

It's just a standard router I got from ee, it has a 5hz connection,
Do you think something like the Asus one would be beneficial?

Sorry, I don't know anything about therouters EE supply. I tried looking them up, but they have a few different one that they give out as standard. So you will have to give me the model number from the back of the router.

Ok so been having another play around tonight,
Decided to boot a fresh save up in HL aylx in virtual desktop,
First impressions were quite good, been a while since I played it on the quest 2,
But I do remember things in the distance not being very clear from the starting point of chaper one,
On this it was all very clear, VD is impressive,

But there is something going on that I just can't unsee and wondered if anyone else has this....
So there is a sweet spot on the pico, and for me if I look at things and pan my head from side to side, things seem to warp a little as they come into the sweet spot (barrel distortion?), including the menus in the pico home, so it's definitely something with the headset itself,
It's really bugging me,
Tried different IPD setting, repositioning the HMD etc, but it remains,
Anyone else with this problem,
If not think I may have to contact system active for advice as its really off putting and doesn't quite seem right
