CUBE PLEXI - HTPC + SERVER CASE

as title says

ATOM 330 ION mobo + 5x sata 3,5 (green/5400rpm)

Will that config work?

It's the spinup power you need to be worried about, isn't it about 14w for a wd green? If so that will be really pushing a 100w brick on startup peak power.

But if I had to put money on it I'd say you'll be ok. Bricks can run over there peak power for a few seconds ok and I don't think it would be too far over if at all.

yes,yes forgot to mention, I was worried about spinup power, I know hdd takes all max power on start, and working hdds takes 10W max

but, okay, guys
You convinced me to test it

I tested it with power meter (cheap model, but still better than nothing)
and seems works

setup:
asus at3n7a-i (atom 330)
2gb ram single stick
-patriot ssd 32gb
-2,0TB samsugn hd204ui (54rpm)
-1,5TB seagate 7200.11
-1,5TB WD green
-2,0TB samsung hd154ui (54rpm)
-250GB wd blue
picopsu 150xt + 102W power brick

-after power on I noticed peak max 103W (only for 0,5s or even less) - with all 2TB or 1,5TB instead 250GB I think max will be about 108W maybe
-running system (winXP) 52W
-mkv playback 55-58W

Conclusion:
Still dunno which PSU should I use.

1U 150W PSU has almost the dimensions as 110W powerbrick - so I will got case with 220V plug without any bricks lying around, and 1U its basicly cheaper.

PICO have one big adventage - cable free case.

What do you think guys?

Thats not gunna be making much heat is it? So cables in the case aren't going to be an issue, I'd go with that 1U PSU personally, especially if its cheaper

Personally I'd stick with the pico the added noise and power consumption of the U1 is enough to put me off.

If it worries you why not buy a better brick? I paid £11 for a 120w brick, guess a 150w isn't going to break the bank and seems a waste not to have one that matches your PSU output.

done
I used pico
