Pics from the weekend

I think it's quite ahrd to get good pictures from a zoo, always look better when it's in the wild but I think you have done quite well there and a lot of the shots came out good.

Don't be afraid to share some more ;)

I echo the thoughts above. Not 2 keen on monkeys unless you can catch them doing something funny. Nice cats- would have liked 2 have seen them face-on. Thanks for the look :)

Your shutter speed seems quite low on some of them. 1/20 or 1/40 for example. Was the camera set to Auto? Chester Zoo can be tricky to get some shots. The Flamingos for example. Theres no good spot to shoot through. The apes n co you really need a longer zoom lens to really get up close to them. Not bad on the whole though :)

The camera was set to manual (aperture priority), I didn't notice how low the shutter speed was on some of the pics until I viewed the pics of the PC!

Longer zoom lense, it is a 12x zoom!

cheers for the comments guys.

Hmm intresting. The 12x zoom is equivalent to a 35-420mm. So it would be about the same as my 10D + 100-400 lens. I've been to Chester Zoo and I felt that I got closer on my shots than you did on yours. I thought it was due to the lens on your model.

I guess I didn't zoom in enough on most of the shots, the 12x zoom lens on the panasonic is great, especially with image stabilization..
